Episode 2 Home

In this episode the gang are all worried about something. Or someone.

Charlie’s depression grows as Nick heads off on holiday.

Charlie’s mom expresses her worry, in a very mom way.

Tao’s focus continues to narrow down to Elle.

Tara starts to suffer under the pressure.

Nick’s aunt and uncle show they are the coolest.

Isaac’s irritation at being third wheeled comes to a head.

Tori’s concern for Charlie causes her to reach out to Nick.

Charlie confesses.

Nick breaks.

Nicks Aunt shows unconditional support.

I am proud of Charlie for almost telling Tori about Nick’s concerns about his eating. I think he would have if Nick hadn’t called right then.

I get that Charlie’s mom is concerned about all the time he spends with Nick. I’m a mom of two sons. But there are definitely better ways to try to talk to him. This was not it, hon.

Could Ajayi and Farouk be more adorable?! I love them so much.

You guys, I was on my 3rd watch of the show before I realized that Elle was a year ahead of Tao and Charlie and Isaac. Even though Charlie tells Nick, in season 1, that Elle was in his year 🤦

Poor Tara! She puts way too much pressure on herself.

I adore Nick’s aunt and uncle. They’re so supportive and cool. They have to be related to Sarah! And I love how close he is to them both.

Poor Isaac. It’s so shitty of the whole group to back out on him. It really is hard being the only single person in a friend group of couples.

I love Darcy’s grandma. She’s so cool! For a Slitheen… That one is for my fellow Doctor Who fans 😏

Charlie, darlin, I get that you’re missing Nick and don’t want to hang with Tao and Elle. Because they’re all couply. But ignoring Isaac is not cool, man.

Tao and Elle really should have listened to Isaac and taken his concerns about Charlie seriously.

Poor Isaac. Feeling like the third wheel really sucks. I don’t blame him for leaving.

I am glad he goes to Charlie to talk to him about what’s going on with him. And I am glad that Charlie asked him to stay to hang out.

I really do love Charlie and Tori’s dad. He’s so funny.

Good for Tori for snooping on Charlie’s computer and then messaging Nick about her concerns.

Poor Charlie! Mental Illness is really no joke. Whether they manifest as eating disorders or emotional disorders or personality disorders, they are equally important and need addressed.

This phone call between Nick and Charlie is so devastating. Nick’s fear and worry. Charlie’s shame. It all just breaks my heart.

Nick breaking and telling his aunt everything. It’s so sad and a relief. She’s right. It’s all too much for a 16 year old to manage on his own.

And I love that Diane does not try to use Nick’s age to downplay his feelings for Charlie. That’s so important.

See ya next time for Talk
