Episode 19 Hail and Farewell

In this episode, we are saying goodbye to several things - metaphorically and literally.

Jace, Izzy, and Clary say goodbye to Sebastian after Jonathan leaves him as a surprise for them.

Alec says goodbye to any hope he has of reasoning with the Downworld once the Seelie Queen gets involved. For now.

Magnus says goodbye to all rationality as his pain takes the lead on his state of mind.

Clary and Simon say goodbye to any lingering hope that they might ever actually be more than BBF’s.

The fandom says goodbye to the debate of if there is chemistry between Kat and Dom. Well, the ones with eyes do, anyway.

We all say goodbye to Jonathan as he goes soaring over a bridge.

And I say goodbye to my sanity as the tension and heartbreak between Magnus and Alec skyrocket with my blood pressure.

I love Izzy, Jace, and Clary going to look for Jonathan. I do wish Alec was with them. Even if I am still mad at him.

Alec! I knew you were going to need the Downworld! Oh my love! You should have kept your promise and trusted Magnus!

Sweet Magnus! I know you are hurting and looking for ways to hurt Alec the way he hurt you. I get it, my love. Truly. But Luke has legit concerns and I wish you would listen to him.

Luke and Raphael know that Magnus is going over the deep end. Clearly, they are worried. I love that they choose to stay close to Magnus and not let him go down this path alone.

WHY DO THESE CHARACTERS NEVER LISTEN TO ME???????

You gotta give it to Alec. He does know just the right tone of voice and looks to make Magnus squirm.

He does know that he is acting irrational. But the pain and betrayal is not letting him think clearly.

While I understand his initial reason for going to the Seelie Queen, it was foolish of him to give her total control of the Downworld. Maybe not your best move, my love.

The tension and hurt that is brewing between my fav couple is so stressful. I almost can’t take it.

Alec breaks my heart, almost as much as Magnus in this scene. But Alec, you did fuck up. You broke the trust of the Downworld. Not just Magnus. The entire Downworld.

This shot is both hot and haunting.

This conversation between Clary and Luke is so sad Poor Clary has already lost so much - her mom, her best friend in some ways, an entire life - and now Luke. It’s no wonder she makes the decisions she does sometimes.

I love that Raphael defends Magnus.

“If it makes you happy then it’s totally okay.”

Umm Clary, darlin, I’m pretty sure Simon wasn’t asking your permission to date Maia.

I hate how sad and lost Magnus is without Alec!

And these photos!!!!! OMG 😭

Magnus, you can say that you putting up the wards to prevent Valentine and Jonathan from leaving the city has nothing to do with Alec. But we all know that’s a lie.

I love Catarina! She’s sassy, she’s funny, she’s devious, she’s clever, she’s hot! What’s not to love?! We (and Magnus) deserved more of her!

I am so proud of Sweet Simon for the way he handled the Seelie Queen. And for calling her out when he realized what she was actually planning.

I love Jace trying to calm and reassure Alec. I am so obsessed with them and their Parabatai bond!

Whew! This Rune tracking ceremony thing is so intense. If you didn’t see a connection between Jace and Clary before, you will after this!

And dear Hecate, Jace is beautiful. Especially when he goes all glowy like this. Sherwood, you sure are pretty.

I love that Jace and Clary both knew - without even talking - that they should not team up in this cemetery mission.

Clary and Izzy work so well together. And they balance each other so well - good girl and rebel girl, light and dark.

And then there are my Parabatai! They are the perfect balance, the perfect sides of the same coin. Magnus once described the Parabatai bond as “A tether that binds two souls. Jace and Alec share emotions, instincts, and strength.” And that is such a beautiful way to say it. If I wasn’t such a Malec boi - if they didn’t own my heart so completely - I would have been a Jalec boi.

Nice shot, Alec! Dear Hecate, I do love my Vigilante Archers!!

The fact that Jace is hanging by a chain at his neck and still manages to sass Jonathan is absolutely fabulous.

The bad news is that Jace would have died had Izzy not shown up when she did.

“I’m tired of being afraid.”

Preach, Clary! Me too, girl! Me too!

And why didn’t this move surprise me. All I can think is ‘Poor Magnus’
