Episode 14 A Kiss From A Rose
This episode focuses on the obsessions of our gang.
Jonathan is so obsessed with his sister that he takes drastic measures.
Izzy is so obsessed with figuring out what the Clave is hiding that she asks Alec for time to examine Greenlaw’s body.
Jordan is so obsessed with making it up to Maia that he ignores his pain to try to keep her calm.
Jace is so obsessed with giving Clary the perfect date that he takes her to do something that he does not know how to do.
Magnus is so obsessed with getting his magic back that he asks the help of a man he knows despises the very sight of him.
Jonathan’s obsession brings him out of hiding to glamour himself as Jace just to get close to Clary.
Alec is so obsessed with wanting Magnus to be okay that he tries to let go of his suspicions of Lorenzo’s ‘gift.’
And I am so obsessed with this show that I can’t stop watching it, talking about it, or making edits about it.
Jonathan! This is so creepy! Having a Seelie pretend to be your sister is just too much.
Then again, look who I’m talking to.
Alec, Izzy knows what she is talking about. She knows bodies. Give her the time she is asking for.
There ya go.
Magnus! I know why you’re there. Don’t do it! However, Harry always makes me chuckle at the faces he makes, as Magnus watches Lorenzo show off.
Oh yay. I guess Alec’s habit of never listening to me has rubbed off on Magnus. (They say with heavy sarcasm)
I do love these scenes between Jordan and Maia. They’re so good together. I love how Jordan is trying to keep her calm even though he is dying. Poor Jordan! He deserved so much better.
Clary and Jace ice skating is so so cute. It’s even more entertaining knowing that, IRL, Dom is the ice skater and Kat had no idea what she was doing.
I am in two minds when it comes to Underhill. I do like him as a Shadowhunter. And I think he could be a good friend for Alec. But he irritates me because I get the impression that he still has a crush on Alec. Such an intriguing character and I hate that we didn’t get to learn more about him.
I do love Magnus’ timing of walking in on Alec and Underhill and displaying his new magic. Almost as if he knows Underhill has more than friendly feelings for his man and decided to make a point.
I don’t blame Alec for his confusion or being suspicious. Magnus didn’t tell him that he was going to go to Lorenzo for a magic transfusion. And when Alec asks him, Magnus is very evasive. I’d be suspicious too.
Magnus, honestly! Come on, my love! We’ve been working on this communication thing. You guys were doing so well.
Clary, darlin, there are some serious red flags ‘Jace’ is throwing up here. Pay attention, girl!
Magnus, my love, I need you to slow down and pay attention to your man. Alec is barely keeping it together. Your little celebrations every time you use magic, are not helping. You need to explain things to him.
It’s so fun to watch Magnus try to get the sword without touching the very dead guy in the coffin. Harry plays the squeamish disdain so well.
Magnus’ monologue to Alec about magic and what it means to him, his insistence that Alec and magic are all that he needs is heartbreaking and sweet.
I have noticed, especially in intense scenes, the way Matt flicks his eyes over Harry’s face to show how intense Alec feels about Magnus and how enthralled he is by him. It’s quite lovely.
Magnus’ plea for Alec to understand what he means and to try to be happy for him is so powerful.
As is Alec agreeing to try, even though he’s not actually there yet.
I cannot believe that these cops actually suspect Luke of the Jade Wolf slaughter. They’re so ridiculous.
Alec confronting Lorenzo, and subtly threatening him, on Magnus’ behalf, is peak boyfriend!!
Lorenzo may be playing aloof and like he’s not worried about Alec’s threat. But you can see, in his face, that he is definitely worried. As he should be. I sure as hell wouldn’t want Alec Lightwood pissed at me.
“Enjoy the position while it lasts. The Clave doesn’t take kindly to conniving, unethical Downworld… leaders. You will slip us. And when you do, I’ll be waiting there to take you down.”
DAMN!
Magnus is the sweetest, tipping the bartender $100. He does not deserve what is about to happen to him.
As much as I love when Magnus does magic, especially portals, he really shouldn’t have done that.
See ya next time for To The Night Children
