Episode 13 Those of Demon Blood

Those of Demon Blood pitts The Downworld (Those of Demon Blood) against The Clave (Dicks with Angel Blood).

With our Shadowhunters firmly caught in the middle.

Jace loses sight of what’s right, all in the name of Herondale.

Alec chooses the wrong side long enough to inflict emotional damage to an already suffering Magnus.

Clary tells off Jace and the Clave, all in the name of Downworlders.

Magnus loses himself in a bottle of whiskey, a much needed dance, and an old friend, until clarity returns just in the knick of time.

Simon reluctantly finds himself popular amongst the vampires.

I love the dynamic between Jace and Maia. Not as a romantic pairing, just as friends. They’re so much fun together. They’re both witty and sassy and absolutely hilarious.

Simon is really coming into his own as a leader and independent thinker.

I don’t talk about Luke much, but I do like him. He’s almost always cool and levelheaded and loyal. Though I do get the impression that he wishes he were still a Shadowhunter rather than a werewolf.

Alec and Jace are giving off some serious Dean and Sam Winchester vibes right here.

You gotta give it to Alec for so easily accepting Jace as Head of the Institute. Just goes to show how understanding and loyal he can be. Now if he could just give his boyfriend that same loyalty and trust…

This Lightwood/Herondale/Kennedy conversation is hilarious.

I’m so proud of Izzy for being straight up with Jace about her Yin Fen addiction. Even though she’s in recovery, she knows that addict term will always apply.

And I love how easily Jace accepts her explanation and accepts her. Every addict needs a person like Jace

I love this brief moment of peace between my favorite couple. But, no Alec, Magnus is not okay and you’re about to make it worse.

Alec, asking Magnus for hair for a DNA test is so shitty and I don’t blame him for being mad. And, OMG, how scary is Magnus with that look on his face. I would NOT want to be Alec!!

Magnus is right, Alec. This is very personal and you’re listening to the wrong side.

Ugh, my poor love. He is going through so much. Still dealing with the mind swap and the torture he suffered while in Valentine’s body. And now, once again having the man he loves show little faith in him and exposing him to a different kind of torture by the Clave.

I have to say, I am proud of Simon for refusing to give Clary the hair. And while we are here, we need another storyline with Magnus and Simon!!

I love Dot. She’s cute, she’s sassy, she’s hot, she’s no longer all Dark Willow.

But girl, do not be hitting on Magnus. They may be fighting, but that man belongs to Alec!

I just absolutely love this shot of Alec and Jace. The way they are standing so much alike with similar facial expressions. The Parabatai at their finest

Jace! You need to listen to Alec! Putting GPA chips in the Downworlders is so so wrong. I know you’re excited about finally having a name and family, but Alec was your family first. You do NOT need to blindly follow Imogen.

I am so proud of Alec for standing up to Jace and Imogen and refusing to be a part of chipping the Downworld.

Jace, what you did to Maia was shitty. You deserve her hitting you. And Luke lecturing you.

I love you, man. But this was too far. You should have listened to Alec.

I love that Alec is the one that is there when Clary wakes up. That he’s the one that tells her what happened and what Jace is allowing.

I absolutely love the way Clary calls out Imogen and the whole Clave for the way they are treating the Downworld. And calling out Jace for going along with it.

I love Meliorn. That is all.

I am so happy that we finally get Harry dancing. The man moves so fluidly and elegantly and a lot of that is due to his dancing. And he deserves to get to show that off.

“I’m in love with Alec.” Oh, my love! Yeah you are!!

“You’re incredibly beautiful, Dot. And soulful. Generous. But, I’m afraid I’ve always been a one soul at a time kind of guy.”

May everyone that wants to fall in love, and can, find a love like Magnus and Alec.

Very proud of Jace for going to apologize to Maia. And remove the chip.

Oh how I miss Alec and Jace moments. And this, Jace making Alec the Head of the Institute, is one of my favs.

Seriously, Daddario should always be smiling! ALWAYS!!

First we get Harry dancing. Then Alberto singing. HEAVEN! Also, someone please tell Alberto that he should release more music! I would do it, but I don’t know him. And, as far as I can tell, he is not one of those rare celebrities that pays attention when some random fan tags him in an Insta story. Not judging him for that, by the way.

Alec - Magnus, you were right. You never have to prove yourself to me. I love you.

Magnus - I love you, too.

This Malec make up scene makes this episode damn near perfect.

We’re now more than halfway through Season 2. See ya next time for The Fair Folk.
