The Fair Folk is about the Seelies

Meliorn makes it clear that the Seelies are reluctant to believe that Alec can make a difference when he still answers to the Clave.

The Queen forces Clary to face her own heart.

But it also is about the more gentle members of our Shadow World being hurt.

Clary breaks Simon’s heart and then refuses to let it go.

Alec cuts through the already very fragile string that Magnus is hanging on to. Again.

Jace and his ‘book club’

Maryse and Izzy finally have that talk I’ve been suggesting for a season and a half.

Sebastian turns out to not be who I wanted him to be.

I love this scene of Jace playing the piano. It’s so very beautiful. Even more, I love that Dom is the one actually playing! Beautiful and beautifully talented.

I love seeing Alec back in charge of the Institute. That is exactly where he should be. No one leads like Alec!

I love that Izzy called out those mouthy little fuckers who were bad mouthing Alec. They’re lucky she didn’t kick their asses!

An excellent moment for our Parabatai. I love that Jace is so supportive of Alec’s desire to have the Downworld cabinet. And I love Alec’s support of Jace’s ‘book club.’

Jace - Book Club.

Clary - You read?

Jace - Yeah. Why does everyone find that so hard to believe?

Neither does Alec’s reactions to said ‘book club.’ 🤣

I just love everything about this shot. Alec, leading the conversation (and Matt doing his ‘hand’ thing). Jace looking at Alec with his regular mix of admiration and sass. Clary just happy to be included. And Izzy all sass and goddess-ness. The words on the screen are just an accidental bonus as I snapped the shot.

I love this meeting between Alec and Luke. I don’t blame Luke for being reluctant to trust Alec after what happened with the Mortal Sword.

But look at my Alec being so persuasive. He has come such a long way from season 1 Alec and I am so damn proud of him.

“Look, Seelies have the beauty of Angels and the viciousness of demons. And those opposing qualities make them unpredictable. A vampire, a werewolf - they prefer to attack you head on. Seelies, they want to trick you into your own self destruction.”

Jace’s description of the Seelies is terrifying and beautiful. Simon really should listen to him.

“I need you there, Magnus. But as a Warlock representative. Not as my boyfriend. Is that okay?”

No Alec! That is NOT okay! Y’all keep forgetting how sensitive Magnus is.

And he’s particularly vulnerable right now as he has not recovered from the mind swap. Because he hasn’t talked about it. Just like he won’t tell Alec that he just hurt him. I love Malec, but they still need to work on communication.

Ugh, that face kills me. Magnus, please for the love of the Angel, talk to Alec about what is going on in that beautiful head of yours!!

This conversation between Alec and Maryse is both sweet and sad. I love how protective Alec is. How he wants Maryse to be happy and wants her to leave Robert for cheating on her.

And I love how gentle Maryse is as she explains the situation to him and why she’s still with him. I’m with Alec, though. You need to leave him, Maryse!

This smug little smirk just deserves its moment in the sun.

Ugh, Sebastian! You’re so sweet and kind and wise! WHY????????

Magnus’ entrance to the cabinet meeting is absolutely adorable. It makes me giggle every time. He hides his pain very well.

As does Alec’s reaction.

And this move is so cute and funny!

I feel so bad for Magnus as he recounts the mind swap with Valentine for Luke, Meliorn, and Raphael. Anyone that is paying attention can tell how much he is still suffering from it. Which, clearly, no one is paying attention Looking at you Alec Lightwood

Luke! I was just about to tell Alec that I was on your side. Until you had to go and make this sketchy phone call.

Okay listen. I know that I am not supposed to approve of the way the Seelie Queen fucks with Jace, Simon, and Clary. But I do. I hate that Simon gets hurt but I also hate Simon and Clary as a couple.I miss their best friends relationship and I want that back.

Clary - This means nothing.

Damn, Maryse! Sneaking in a Malec compliment. Okay, girl. I see you!

I love that these two finally talk and work things out.

Maryse is really on that fast track to redemption. Because I am really starting to love her.

I am really proud of Alec for letting Luke go. Even though he did deserve to get in trouble.

Dear Hecate, I do adore Alec. And Matt!!

I’m so proud of Raphael for doing the right thing and telling Izzy that they are bad for each other.

Clary, my darling, I know you love Simon but you were not in love with Simon. There is such a difference. He was your failsafe. Listen, I’m not judging. As far as I can tell, most people do have one at some point in their lives. Walk away for a bit, babe, and let him heal.
