Episode 6 A Window Into An Empty Room

We get a peak into several ‘empty rooms’ as the gang continues to struggle with themselves.

Alec is running on empty as jealousy and insecurity continue to mess with his head. And his relationship with Magnus.

Magus ignores the emptiness as he tries to hang onto the faith that Alec will come around with time.

Jace continues to view his family through his empty soul as Lilith’s control increases.

Maryse struggles with feeling empty as she struggles to find her place in the mundane world.

Izzy hopes to fill the empty void inside by agreeing to a second date with Charlie.

Clary searches for answers in the hope they will help her understand the emptiness left by Jace’s behavior.

Underhill reaches to fill the emptiness in his heart, even if he is hitting on a man already spoken for.

I continue to rage at the evil people that cancelled this show, leaving us with too many empty storylines.

Of us all, Simon remains the only one surviving on any kind of functional level.

I love Tessa. I do not love Heidi.

Simon and Jordan are so funny together. Alberto and Chai have such great chemistry and play off of each other so well.

“Good. Maybe you should save the spatula I used for your little box.”

Alexander!! That is definitely NOT moving on!! Also, I absolutely love that I caught this screen shot just as Matt’s name came on the screen.

Alec - I’m not a child, Magnus.

Magnus - Then stop acting like one.

It’s funny. The first time I watched this show, I said the exact thing that Magnus says - just seconds before he did. Because Alec is acting like a child. I get that he’s scared but he needs to talk to Magnus - and listen. Not antagonize.

I love that Izzy is there for Alec. And I love that she reminds him that he and Magnus have something special.

Come on, Alec! You know Izzy’s right. And you know you miss Magnus!

Underhill is really working to set up his play for Alec. HE’S NOT FOR YOU, ANDREW!!

ALEC, NO!! Just no!

Maryse, you do not have to lie to Alec and Izzy. It is clear you are hurting and they want to be there for you.

I mean, just look at that sweet, beautiful face! How can you say no to that face?!

I am convinced that Jace’s death and resurrection did some kind of damage to their Parabatai Rune. It has not worked correctly since. If it were, Alec would know that Jace is full of shit. And Jace would know that Alec is lying through his teeth.

It’s not just Magnus’ queerness that makes him such an iconic character. It is his heart, the way he cares about those he loves, his magic, his beauty. Most of all, it is the perfection and outstanding talent with which Harry plays him.

I so love Magnus and Clary’s relationship. And I love them bonding over their psycho fathers.

It sucks that Maryse was de-runed. But I love this version of her. She’s lighter, funny, interested in her children, and nice to Magnus. This is a Maryse I can love.

Jace - What friend?

Alec - Friend? What? You have a new boyfriend? Why am I the last one to hear about this?

Jace - No, Alec. I haven’t heard about this one, either.

I love Alec and Jace teasing Izzy about Charlie.

Underhill, I like you but NO! I told you that Alec is not for you! He is for Magnus! Just no, my guy.

Alec! Absolutely the fuck not!! You and Magnus belong to each other. I need you to remember that, drunk or not!!

I love that Luke showed up and is there for Maryse. If anyone understands what she is going through, it’s Luke.

Nicola is flawless!

I love that Clary went to Magnus for help with the demon. And I love that he was able to help her. They are so great together.

I love this introduction of Brother Zachariah. But this is also another great reason to hate the people that cancelled this amazing show- denying us the Jem of it all.

The looks on Magnus and Clary’s faces when they find out Jace never went to the Silent City for help - they know something is wrong.

I really love Izzy and Simon! I wish they had gotten together long ago.

Not going to lie, these two flirting makes me want to throw my phone through my TV!

Drunk Alec is adorable, tho. And very good at flirting. For what that’s worth.

Even though Underhill said what he said with the intention of hooking up with Alec, his words do make sense for most Shadowhunter couples. But not for Alec and Magnus. Magnus is special. Not your typical Warlock. And knows Shadowhunters as well as, if not better than you Andrew!!

I am very proud of Alec for walking away and getting into that cab. Even drunk, he knows where his heart lies and he knows it’s not worth it to ‘sow some wild oats.’

The big reveal - Jace is the (non) Owl Demon. Poor Clary. But damn, Dom plays this so well.
