Episode 10 Erchomai
In this episode, many things come to a head as the gang heads into this final battle with Lilith.
With no other choice, Magnus makes the decision to go to his father for help in saving Jace.
Alec is afraid for Magnus, but knows he’s going to do it no matter what Alec says.
Becky forgives Simon for biting her and swears to stand by his side.
Magnus comes face to face with his father, for the first time in centuries.
Asmodeus thinks that Magnus has come to join him. Until Magnus proves otherwise.
Simon makes the devastating decision to encanto his mom to think he is dead.
Magnus finally gets to say all the things he has wanted to say to Asmodeus.
Alec tries to keep a lid on his fears for Magnus as he prepares to fight his own Parabatai.
Jace gets the upper hand on Alec. Until Magnus arrives and saves them both. At a great cost to Magnus.
And I rejoice in having Jace back while, simultaneously, rage that Asmodeus left Magnus so vulnerable and unprotected.
It’s no wonder Jonathan is so crazy. Edom is no place for a child to grow up.
I really hate that these cops are trying to pin everything on Luke. After all his years on the NYPD this is the thanks he gets?!
Then again, Magnus was raised in Edom by Asmodeus and he is sweet and wonderful and beautiful. It just shows that there is some choice involved in whether we are good or evil.
I mean, they both have demon blood and were raised in Edom by their demon parent. One turned out to be an Angelic Warlock. One turned out to be a sadistic killer.
This Malec scene is so heartbreaking. Magnus telling Alec what it was like being raised by his father. Alec being moved by his story and being afraid for him and not really wanting him to go. Magnus trying to stay strong with sarcasm. Oh My Heart!!
Then, Alec stopping Magnus and saying “You’re going to make it back.”
Magnus cupping his cheek and saying “Why wouldn’t I? Look what I have waiting for me.”
OH MY GODS!!!!!
Finally, the kiss and the I Love You’s. Absolute perfection. Harry and Matt did such a stunning job. They play their parts so well and so authentically. And this is just one of the many reasons why this couple, and these actors, are so important to me as a Queer person.
I hate that Magnus is back in Edom! I hate that him going to Asmodeus is the only way to save Jace. But I love this screenshot. I have it saved in a folder I titled Photo Art because sometimes I take a screenshot so good, it could be art.
I love that Magnus loves Alec so much that he is willing to go to these lengths to save Jace.
I love Becky wanting to be there for Simon. And that she doesn’t hate him for biting her. She’s a great big sister. And she’s so adorable.
This look on Magnus’s face when Asmodeus hugs him. Ugh!! I really hate that he is there!
The fact that Magnus was able to withstand Asmodeus’ wrath is such a testament to his power.
“Simon Lewis is dead.” Oh, Sweet Simon! I’m so sorry you had to do that.
Thank Hecate for Izzy. Once again, she is the one that is there for Simon.
“I was a child!” When Magnus says this to Asmodeus, Holy Hell!! The look on Harry’s face, the break in his voice - fucking masterful!!
“Mom, I’m going to ask you to sit this one out.”
Poor Alec. He’s already terrified that he is going to lose the love of his life and his brother. Now his mom, who is mostly mundane now, wants to fight Lilith.
Maryse, give Alec this one and sit out. Don’t make Alec worry about losing his mom, too.
I love the way Izzy’s eyes look when she activates the Rune that lets her see the Ley Lines. Well, I always love Izzy’s eyes. But they’re especially cool here.
Dear Hecate, I love Archer Alec!! And here we are. The battle has begun. And Magnus is not there, yet. Now Alec has to decide if he tries to kill Jace or stalls long enough for Magnus to get there.
It kills me to see Alec and Jace fighting. Part of me wishes Magnus would hurry up and get there and save Jace. Part of me wants him to never show because I know what it cost him.
It always baffles me how Jace managed to get the upper hand and take Alec down. Alec has always proven to be better at hand to hand than Jace. I can only guess the added demonic power gave him a new edge.
Oh gods! This look on Magnus’ face when he arrives and sees Alec on the ground and Jace driving an arrow into his hear. Devastating!
Magnus is magical, indeed. The power and force he uses to blast this energy at Jace is impressive and heartbreaking.
And here we are. Jace returned. But Alec at death’s door. And Magnus without his magic and unable to save his man. Stupid Asmodeus!
And when Harry, Matt, and Dom are on the screen together, Holy Hell!! The screen is practically on fire. And it is glorious!
Poor Magnus having to confess to Jace that he traded his magic for Jace’s freedom. And the look on Jace’s face, realizing just what Magnus sacrificed for him!
I sure have missed those golden eyes!!
Welcome back, my Golden Warrior! I missed you!
OMG, this look on Jace’s face when Simon says that Clary is dead!! She’s not, guys! She’s not!!
See ya next time for Lost Souls.
