Episode 8 A Walk In Darkness

The events of the previous few episodes are definitely sending the gang spiraling down the path of darkess.

Simon spirals through the darkness as he worries about what the Clave is putting Clary through.

Clary comes face to face with the Soul Sword, but - ultimately - it’s her belief that she did the right thing for Jace that finally brings her darkest secret to light.

Jordan struggles to rise above the darkness after confessing all to Maia and Simon.

Jace continues to sink into the darkness as Lilith’s control completely dominates.

Alec and Izzy take that literal walk through the darkness of Jace’s soul as they attempt to find and free him.

Magnus is determined to be the light in that darkness for Alec.

And I rage at the darkness for doing such a number on my beloved Gang.

I do enjoy that it takes so much out of Lilith to move an apartment. But Magnus can do it with the snap of his fingers and not break a sweat or get a hair out of place.

This Dark version of Jace is vicious . But damn if Dom isn’t doing a phenomenal job with it.

Absolutely love this face off between Magnus and Jace. A nice little foreshadowing as to what is to come.

“Simon, Clary risked everything to save Jace. You want to do something for her? Help destroy the demon that caused all this mess.”

Way to get through to Simon, Izzy!!

“Hey. No one can find out about Jace’s possession. If Clary’s able to keep a lid on her wish, we can’t blow it.”

I love that Alec wants to protect Clary.

This moment between Magnus and Alec is so sweet.

Poor Magnus being so scared of losing Alec but willing to help him try to save Jace anyway. He is being so understanding and supportive. And if there is any jealous in his beautiful soul, he is keeping it well hidden.

Alec being understanding but reminding Magnus that part of him lives in Jace through their Parabatai Rune. And if something happens to Jace, it happens to Alec, as well.

I love Magnus, Alec, and Izzy working together and plotting to save Jace.

I hate that Clary is on trial! This Clave really sucks!

I feel so bad for Jordan. Yeah, what he did to Maia sucked. But he owned it and has been trying to set it right. Simon, you need to chill my guy.

I swear I love Maryse more every time I see her. And if she looked at me like that, I would give her anything she wanted

While I am enjoying Dark Jace, and Dom’s performance, if he doesn’t stop trying to come between Magnus and Alec, I’m going to kill him.

I do like this smug look on Magnus’ face, tho. This man has lived through so much that Dark Jace’s little mind games are childs play to him.

Poor Alec is so done, though. I can only imagine the emotions that are coming through that Parabatai Rune. And, as the show seems to have all but dropped that storyline by this point, that is all we can do is imagine.

Dark Jace is such a dick. Funny, though.

I just love when Magnus goes all yellow cat eyes! As much as I love Harry’s natural and beautiful brown eyes, I wish we had gotten to see the yellow eyes more. But I know how uncomfortable the contact must have been for Harry, especially wearing them for long periods or too often. So I remain grateful for the few times that we did get.

Magical Magnus is so damn beautiful.

This trip through Jace’s mind that Alec and Izzy take is insane. I love the memories. But it is also like a first acid trip - kind of cool but also wonky and scary. And yes, I do know from long past experience.

Clary NO! I really hate Jia! But I am so proud of Clary for telling her off.

I love how the mind trip went full color and cleared up the second Alec found Jace.

Jace’s reunion with Alec and Izzy is so sweet. It almost makes me want to cry. I love this trio so much.

Magnus! It’s not your fault! Lilith attacked while you were all distracted. She didn’t have the nerve to face you while you were paying attention because she knows you would destroy her.

Alec! It’s not your fault either! Don’t give up. You’ll get Jace back!

Alec - He begged us. He begged us to kill him.

Izzy - All the terrible things Lilith made Jace do. He said, if she takes him back, she’d make him do much worse.

Alec - Now Lilith has him again. Just like he said she would. We promised him we wouldn’t let her take him back.

Magnus - You did all you could.

Alec - We promised him.

Poor Alec. The guilt is really eating him alive. This guy just cannot catch a break. Even Matt has commented on how stressed Alec always was. But Matt did a fantastic job playing it all. And things did get a bit better after Alec fell in love with Magnus.

Then there is my sweet Magnus. Trying to comfort and reassure Alec, while at the same time starting to work on a new plan to save Jace.
